DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — President Barack Obama is heading to North Carolina to talk jobs.

The president is scheduled Monday to visit a plant in Durham that makes energy-efficient lighting. Vice President Joe Biden visited Cree Inc. in March.

A meeting of the Jobs and Competitiveness Council is also taking place in Durham.

The White House says Obama will give a speech at the plant and discuss economic policies with the 22-member council, which is made up of business and labor leaders who are trying to figure out ways to increase hiring and boost economic growth.
